WLRN: Scammers Use AI to Impersonate Immigration Attorneys to Dupe Immigrants With Fake Legal Services
WLRN reports that scammers are increasingly using AI to impersonate immigration attorneys through fake websites, social media profiles, and fabricated immigration hearings to defraud immigrants seeking legal representation. AILA Senior Counsel, Practice and Ethics, Charity Anastasio said, “They can just impersonate you with technologies that anybody can buy very cheaply, and they can prop up a fake website or a fake set of ads on Facebook or WhatsApp.”
