USCIS Announces New Editions of Forms I-539 and I-765 Effective September 15
USCIS announced that it will publish revised editions of Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, and Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, on September 15, 2026, to align with the final rule eliminating duration of status for F, J, and I visas that takes effect that day. Beginning September 15, USCIS will require the new editions, and filings using older editions will be rejected. See the official announcement for more details
