The Guardian: U.S. Immigration Judges Told to Slash Time Given to People Awaiting Visas or Green Cards Before Being Deported
On September 2, 2026, EOIR conducted an online training for immigration judges on requests for continuances. As reported by The Guardian, the training instructed judges to tightly restrict continuances, including in cases involving vulnerable individuals such as abused and abandoned children and survivors of violent crime.
