ProPublica: More Than 500 U.S. Citizens Have Been Detained in Trump’s Immigration Crackdown
ProPublica reports that its review identified 506 U.S. citizens detained by immigration agents since the start of the Trump Administration, including more than 100 citizens questioned about their citizenship, at least 70 children and teens, and 36 citizens held for at least a day without being able to contact a lawyer or family. The investigation documents incidents involving citizenship-related detentions, use of force, home entries without judicial warrants, and the detention of people recording immigration enforcement.
