Practice Pointer: 540-Day TPS EAD Auto-Extensions Cut Short by OBBBA
In mid-August, USCIS announced that certain TPS-based EADs for beneficiaries from El Salvador, Sudan, and Ukraine who previously filed an application to extend their EAD before October 20, 2025, will remain valid through the applicable TPS termination date. USCIS is issuing notices to eligible individuals with pending EAD renewal applications, and beneficiaries have begun receiving notices through their myUSCIS accounts.
