DOS Announces Pilot of Public Charge Bonds for Immigrant Visa Applicants
Yesterday, DOS announced that it has implemented a procedure permitting consular officers to require certain immigrant visa applicants to apply for a Public Charge Bond with USCIS in order to overcome a public charge denial. The procedure is currently being utilized under a pilot program.
