DHS Proposes Significant New Fees for Optional Practical Training
DHS is expected to publish a proposed rule in the Federal Register tomorrow, October 8, 2026, that would impose significant new fees on F-1 students participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT). The proposed fees are $70,000 for initial OPT and $30,000 for each subsequent OPT authorization. Comments are due 30 days after publication.
