AILA and Members Sue Administration Over Arbitrary Mandatory Form Changes
AILA and Benach Pitney Reilly filed suit today against the Trump Administration after USCIS announced without advance notice that new editions of Forms I-864, I-864A, and I-864EZ would be required immediately, potentially resulting in the rejection of filings already prepared or in the mail. In a press release, AILA Benefits Litigation Attorney Jennifer Coberly said the lack of notice or a grace period “puts AILA and our members in an impossible situation,” while AILA Second Vice President Rekha Sharma-Crawford said the changes have “directly caused panic” and could result in applicants losing filing dates or eligibility.
