These Civics Flash Cards will help you increase
your knowledge and understanding of U.S. history and government. Immigrants
applying for naturalization can use these flash cards as a study tool to prepare
for the naturalization test and teachers and volunteers can use these flash
cards in the classroom.
The flash cards are available in Adobe PDF, an online web-based version, and
for purchase through the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO). Each version
can be accessed by clicking on the links below.

Online Version with the Civics Flash Cards
This booklet provides short lessons, based on each of the civics questions
on the naturalization test. This additional information is intended to help
naturalization applicants gain a deeper understanding of U.S. history and
government as they prepare to become citizens. During your naturalization
interview, you will NOT be tested on the additional information in the short
lessons. You will only be asked the Questions and Answers. |

Adobe PDF Flash Card Instructions:

Open the Adobe PDF version on
your computer and print the entire document. The document has a total of
48 pages. There are 96 flash cards-two per page. |

Cut out the flash cards. Paste
the question and answer for each card on opposite sides of a 3" x 5" index
card with the question on the front and the answer on the back. Pasting
the questions and answers on index cards will make the cards more durable,
allowing for longer use. |

Once the flash cards are pasted
on 3" x 5" index cards, stack them together with all of the questions facing
the same side. |
| 4. |
To use as a study tool, pick
up a card and read the question. When you are ready to answer, turn
the card over and see if your answer was correct. |

would like to answer the questions on the USCIS website. To use the online version,
follow the instructions below.

Upon selecting a question, you
will be directed to that question's page. |

Read the question and try to
identify the answer. Once you are ready, click on "Answer" to see if you
were correct. |

To view the next question, click
on "Next Question." To view the previous question, click on "Previous Question."
To return to the question list, click on "Question List." To return to the
