USCIS Will Accept Older Edition of Form N-400 Until December 1

To allow for a transition period, USCIS announced that applicants may file either the older edition (dated 09/13/13) or new edition (dated 03/26/16) of Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, until December 1, 2016. Also, sponsoring organizations using a stamp or sticker in place of the information required in Part 14, “Interpreter’s Section,” or Part 15, “Preparer’s Section,” to prepare N-400 applications at a group assistance event may continue that practice until December 1.

USCIS announced Form I-131A Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation)

USCIS announced that it has published Form I-131A, Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation), a new form that allows lawful permanent residents (LPRs) to apply for a travel document if they are returning from temporary overseas travel of less than one year and their green card has been lost, stolen, or destroyed, or are returning from temporary overseas travel of less than two years and their reentry permit has been lost, stolen, or destroyed. To file Form I-131A, LPRs must pay the required fee online and then apply in person at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
